- Studied at the Glasgow School of Art 1959-64

- Royal Scottish Academy Prize 1963

- Haldane Travelling Scholarship 1964

- Latimer Award –1969, 1974

- Royal Scottish Academy

- Mary Armour Prize –1994, 1997, 2006

- Paisley Art Institute

- Part-time Lecturer Glasgow School of Art 1980-90

- Elected artist member (RGI) of the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts 1994

- Selected for the inaugural Threadneedle Prize exhibition 2008

- Elected artist member (RP) of the Royal Society of Portrait Painters 2021

Commissions include a number of eminent Scots and University luminaries.

Work hangs in various public collections including:

- Glasgow Museums, Kelvingrove

- Hunterian Art Gallery, Glasgow
